HÀ NỘI The annual Hà Nội Gift Show 2019 will return to the capital city from October 17-20 with the participation of nearly 250 domestic and foreign exhibitors.

The fair, the eighth of its kind, is expected to welcome 1,000 handicraft importers and more than 10,000 visitors, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Thanh Hải told a press conference here last week.

The upcoming event will feature 650 stalls by domestic and foreign handicraft makers, he said, adding that it will also include a zone for displaying creative and well-designed products.

Included in the display will be home decor and handicraft items, indoor and outdoor furniture, home textiles and embroidery, gifts, personal accessories and other craft products.

An international seminar discussing the sustainable development of handicrafts on the back of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will also be held.

Meanwhile, the “Match and Meet” event will draw 1,000 handicraft importers and suppliers, connecting to negotiate contracts.

According to Nguyễn Thị Lương, Director of the Hà Nội-based Hiền Lương Bamboo and Rattan Export Co, the show will help  exhibitors access new customers, explore the market’s new trends and learn from others’ experience in improving management and bringing products to the world market.

The previous edition lured more than 200 domestic and international businesses, showcasing their products at 650 booths. — VNS
