HÀ NỘI — The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) held its Business Matching of Japanese Agriculture, Fisheries and Food 2019 in Hà Nội on September 13 to enhance trading activities among enterprises from Japan and Việt Nam.
The event attracted the participation of 34 Japanese enterprises offering products in high demand such as seafood and processed seafood products, supplementary products, and processed foods such as candy, baby food and Wagyu beef.
"We regularly organise this event to help Japanese businesses find and connect with Vietnamese partners. Also at the meeting, the businesses of the two countries will have many opportunities to strengthen business cooperation," Hironobu Kitagawa, JETRO chief representative in Hà Nội, told Việt Nam News.
"This event will bring businesses of the two countries closer, creating favourable conditions for business opportunities and signing of contracts to import goods from Japan to Việt Nam," said Nguyễn Thị Phượng, director of the ADHome Thịnh Vượng Co, Ltd, that has imported Japanese cosmetics products to Việt Nam for four years.
"As well as organising this meeting, we also have a business support centre to help Japanese businesses invest in Việt Nam. JETRO will support them from the first stage of operation, establishment of the company in Việt Nam, and during their operations in Việt Nam," said Kitagawa.
According to Japan’s Ministry of Finance, the export turnover of agriculture, forestry, fishery and food from Japan to Việt Nam in 2018 reached the highest level of 45.7 billion yen (US$423.2 million), up 15.9 per cent year on year. This exceeded 40 billion yen for the first time. VNS
