HCM CITY — Digiworld Corporation and Xiaomi Company last week opened a new Mi Store in HCM City’s District 1.
The new store on Tôn Thất Tùng Street is the Chinese company’s eighth in Việt Nam and the first to have a service centre attached. There are six stores in HCM City and one each in Hà Nội and Thanh Hoá Province.
By last January, 10 months after coming to the country, Xiaomi’s market share had gone up to 5.2 per cent.
The store sells all products made by Xiaomi, which include speakers, VR headsets and others.
To mark the opening, eight different accessories like selfie sticks, chargers, headphones, and bags are being sold at VNĐ99,000 (US$4.4) each. There are also discounts of up to 30 per cent on many products and other promotions, all until the end of this month.
In Việt Nam, Digi World is the sole distributor of Xiaomi products.
Xiaomi Corporation last week announced details of its global IPO and proposed listing in Hong Kong.
A total of 2.18 billion shares are being offered, including 108 million shares in Hong Kong.
The issue is expected to be priced at HK$17-22 per share. —VNS
