TUYÊN QUANG — Six high-quality agricultural products from the northern province of Tuyên Quang have been exported to the United Kingdom for the first time.

The six products came from four cooperatives in the three districts of Yên Sơn, Chiêm Hóa and Hàm Yên.

They are among the most outstanding agricultural products of the province, which were all given the One Commune–One Product (OCOP) certificates.

They include the guava tea and honey-soaked papaya flowers produced by Bình Minh Organic Agricultral Cooperative and dried bananas by Chiêu Yên Cooperative. Both are located in Yên Sơn District.

They also include black bean tea from Hồng Phát Agricultural Cooperative in Chiêm Hóa District and lemon syrup and kumquat syrup from Minh Thảo Cooperative in Hàm Yên District.

The products were packaged in 2,200 boxes and jars that met the international standards for exports and delivered to the UK by R.Y.B Joint Stock Company.

Speaking on the departure date, Deputy Chairman of the Tuyên Quang People’s Committee Nguyễn Thế Giang said: “The products chosen for export are the pride of our province, which have been promoted and sold very well in the domestic market.

“Although the total export value of this batch is not high, they are the initial positive results of our efforts to produce quality agricultural products with an intention to export to international markets.”

The province’s agricultural sector will continue to improve their production process, by complying with standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP and ISO, he added.

“We will also keep supporting farmers and cooperatives to improve the product packaging and traceability stamps,” he said.

Tuên Quang Province has high potential for high-quality commercial agricultural production with 32 safe food supply chains and 248 OCOP-certified products.
