HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Friday attended the groundbreaking ceremony in Hà Nội for the new Vietnam Exhibition Fair Centre in Đông Anh District.

Developed by conglomerate Vingroup, the 90ha centre will replace the previous exhibition centre, located on Giảng Võ Street.

It is expected to be a destination for global trade events and exhibitions, helping domestic and foreign enterprises to connect and seek cooperation opportunities and contribute to promoting the city's economic growth.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman of the municipal People's Committee Trần Sỹ Thanh said the city has focused on improving urban and traffic infrastructure systems to facilitate investment projects, especially in terms of trade expos and exhibitions.

The chairman said he hoped that the new centre would be capable of hosting large fairs and exhibitions, at both the regional and global levels, creating the chance for the city to accelerate trade, investment and tourism cooperations.

He vowed that the city would support the investor in implementing the project, with the goal of putting it into operation as soon as possible. — VNS
