HẢI PHÒNG — Industrial property developer KCN Vietnam Group broke ground for the second phase of its ready-built warehouse and factory project at DEEP C Industrial Park in Hải Phòng on August 2.
Once completed in the first quarter of 2025, this project will add over 80,000 sq.m (square metres) of high-quality ready-built warehouses and ready-built hybrids (mixed-use warehouse and factory), bringing the total leasable floor area of the entire project to more than 150,000 sq.m.
The 23.2ha-project is expected to meet a wide range of leasing and storage needs for businesses, making Hải Phòng an attractive destination for multi-sector FDI, with logistics as a key focus, the company said in a statement.
Hardy Diec, Chief Operating Officer of KCN Vietnam, said that the project will help Hải Phòng attract logistics businesses and create job opportunities for local workers
Notably, the second phase of the KCN DEEP C-Hải Phòng project is KCN Vietnam Group's pioneering project in applying green building standards and aims to obtain LEED Silver certification. LEED is among the top prestigious green building certifications in the world, developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
The application of LEED standards not only demonstrates the group's social responsibility but also provides advantages for client enterprises. These include improved energy efficiency, enabling tenants to save up to 25 per cent on energy costs and reduce water usage by 10 per cent, optimising operational costs.

Earlier last week, KCN Vietnam Group announced its green building development agenda, endeavoring to achieve green, sustainability standards and certifications.
This commitment not only proves the company's strong efforts in adopting green initiatives, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, and pursuing sustainable development goal, but also reflects its determination to accompany the Government in implementing the National Green Growth Strategy for the period 2021-30.
As Việt Nam actively aims for net-zero emissions by 2050, the industrial property sector plays a crucial role in promoting a green economy. Developing green industrial parks, associated with circular economy models, cleaner production and the efficient and economical use of resources, is increasingly becoming a mainstream trend, the company said. — VNS
