Petrovietnam donates ventilators to Hà Nội for COVID-19 treatment

HÀ NỘI — Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) has recently donated 100 high-function ventilators and medical supplies to Hà Nội City.  

Secretary of Hà Nội Party Committee Đinh Tiến Dũng, Chairwoman of Hà Nội Fatherland Front Nguyễn Lan Hương, Hà Nội Health Department Director Trần Thị Nhị Hà, and Lê Mạnh Hùng, CEO of PetroVietnam were in attendance.

In the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, PetroVietnam has been active in contributing to social welfare and pandemic control and prevention. 

As of September, PetroVietnam had donated VNĐ775.8 billion (US$34.2 million) to COVID-19 control and prevention, of which VNĐ554.9 billion (US$24.4 million) went into the vaccine fund.  

Since the beginning of the year, the group has been implementing pandemic prevention measures in their operation and production, while also ensuring that their staff is vaccinated.

At the ceremony, PetroVietnam CEO Lê Mạnh Hùng presented 100 high-function ventilators to the representative of Hà Nội Fatherland Front, hoping that this donation would support the city in improving healthcare for its people, especially COVID-19 patients.

The group is also committed to supporting Hà Nội in terms of medical supplies and equipment, improving healthcare services, and social welfare in general. 

Speaking at the event, the Secretary of Hà Nội Party Committee recognised and praised the PetroVietnam and its member units for their support in pandemic control and prevention. 

He also emphasised that the timely assistance of PetroVienam today will help the city’s medical forces in treating COVID-19 patients.

The city secretary also hoped that PetroVietnam would continue supporting the city in social security activities, enhancing people’s lives, and contributing to the economic development of Hà Nội. — VNS
