HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) attended the World Energy Week 2021 organised by the World Energy Council (WEC) from October 5-7.
The programme for World Energy Week 2021 with the theme "Energy for better lives" was held in an online format.
This is an influential annual meeting of WEC in the international energy industry. This is also a good opportunity to exchange information between organisations around the globe about the views on energy in general and facilitate the exchange of strategic thinking, investment co-operation proposals between ministries, industries, state management agencies, and energy enterprises.
In addition, this year's event will help connect businesses with ministries in energy management.
WEC will also conduct human resource exchange and training activities to improve competitiveness in the energy field. The programme will contribute to build and enhance the role of energy in Việt Nam in particular and globally in general in stable operation, sustainable development and prosperity of energy sources in the global system.
Participating in this event, a representative of Petrovietnam gave a presentation titled "Petrovietnam with the orientation of production and supply with green hydrogen energy in the future".
With the goal of contributing to ensuring national energy security and in the context of the decreasing domestic oil and gas production output, the research and assessment of opportunities of Petrovietnam in developing the hydrogen field in general and green hydrogen production as well as identification of natural hydrogen sources in particular are essential. — VNS
