ACCA partners with VINASME to empower local businesses in Nghe An

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VINASME) organised workshops in Vinh City in Nghe An Province on Jan. 13.

The workshop, which was attended by Dr. To Hoai Nam, VINASME Vice Chairman; Mr. Hoang Viet Duong, VINASME Nghe An Chairman; and provincial officials, was aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of local enterprises through the application of digital transformation in finance and the compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS). It was also aimed at enhancing their expertise in finance and accounting, technology and management.

The workshop represents one of ACCA's numerous initiatives to promote business growth in Vietnam, particularly focused on the adoption of international financial reporting standards and digital transformation by the business community in Nghe An province. It was built upon the memorandum of understanding signed between ACCA and VINASME in July 2023.

Earlier, ACCA launched the Job FastTrack human resource development programme to assist small and medium-sized businesses and create opportunities for them to recruit and develop talented people, and enhance their financial capability.

Dr. To Hoai Nam of VINASME said: “The ACCA’s certificate is highly regarded both in Vietnam and internationally. By partnering with competent organizations like ACCA, we can apply internationally standards to meet practical requirements. I am confident that the participants in today's workshop have gained valuable knowledge and enhanced their capabilities, enabling them to make effective contributions towards management and integration in an ever-evolving and innovative world.”

Mr. To Quoc Hung said: “The today workshop marks the beginning of a series of activities aimed at supporting businesses in Nghe An Province. The programme has been specifically designed by ACCA’s experts to help domestic businesses in the wise and appropriate application of technology, improve their access to capital and enhance their international competitiveness.

“I hope that this programme not only improves the capacity of local businesses but also provides opportunities to connect and share knowledge, contributing to the development of businesses in Vietnam.”
