HÀ NỘI — Three new COVID-19 cases connected to the outbreak in Đà Nẵng were announced on Friday morning, bringing the country's total to 750.

A man aged 28 and two women, aged 27 and 54, are the latest people to test positive for coronavirus.

Since July 25, there have been 298 community cases connected to the central city.

Patient 748 is a 54-year-old woman living in Sầm Sơn City in the north-central province of Thanh Hoá. She has been in direct contact with Patient 620.

Thanh Hoá Centre for Disease Control took her sample on Wednesday but the results were inconclusive. It was then sent it to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Hà Nội, which confirmed the infection.

The patient is currently undergoing treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in the capital.

Patient 749 is a 27-year-old woman from Vĩnh Linh District in the central province of Quảng Trị. She was taking care of a relative who is a patient at the neurology faculty at Đà Nẵng Hospital. On July 21, she reported mild fever, sore throat and fatigue.

Patient 750, a 28-year-old man also from Quảng Trị, is a friend of Patient 749. The two met on July 18 and a week later, he also started to develop similar symptoms.

The two are being treated at Quảng Trị Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases.

Currently, 178,451 people who have either come into contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients or returned from virus-affected regions are in quarantine across the country.
