U23 team receives first-class Labour Order

Việt Nam President Trần Đại Quang yesterday decided to present a first-class Labour Order to the U23 side for their outstanding performance at the ongoing Asian championship in China.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam President Trần Đại Quang yesterday decided to present a first-class Labour Order to the U-23 side for their outstanding performance at the ongoing Asian championship in China.

The president will also deliver three Labour Orders, third class, to the team’s head coach Park Hang-seo, midfielder Nguyễn Quang Hải and goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng for their special contributions at the tournament.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc announced certificates of merit given to 31 members of the team which include 21 players and 10 officials and managers.

PM Phúc, yesterday from India, also sent a letter to encourage players ahead of their final match against Uzbekistan on Saturday in Changshu City.

He wrote that the team would play a final match which would mark a milestone in the history of the national football. “It would be a difficult challenge but more than 90 million people were standing behind and strongly supporting you. Be confident and play for the pride of Việt Nam.”

AFC President Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa yesterday also sent his congratulations to the Vietnamese squad.

Al-Khalifa said he was happy to see Việt Nam’s amazing performance at the tournament and sent his best wishes for the team in the final match. — VNS
