ĐẮK LẮK A fire broke out at 4am on Thursday at a warehouse in the Central Highlands province of Đắk Lắk’s Krông Pắk District, leading to property damage, but no fatalities were reported.

Local fire-fighters extinguished the fire at 8am, but not before it had destroyed all equipment and material in the warehouse of Rồng Hoa Thái Ltd Co, which stored wrapping tools and papers for durians. The destroyed area covered thousands of square metres, and financial losses were estimated at hundreds of millions of đồng, initial reports said.

The blaze started and spread quickly throughout the storage. Due to the location of the fire deep in a residential area, fire-fighters faced difficulties in approaching the area, according to an official from the local fire-fighting centre.

A total of three trucks and 50 fire-fighters were mobilised to the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. — VNS
