QUẢNG TRỊ — The central province of Quảng Trị’s People’s Committee, in co-operation with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), yesterday held a photo exhibition in the province’s Đông Hà City to mark the 45th anniversary of Cuban President Fidel Castro’s visit to the South Việt Nam Liberation Zone.

Some 45 photos taken by generations of VNA reporters in different time periods are displayed at the exhibition, presenting 45 years since the Cuban leader’s visit to the area in Quảng Trị Province (September 1973 - 2018).

The photos focus on three major topics depicting his visits to the liberation area in 1973 and to some others constructions symbolising the collaboration between the two countries, the friendship and faithful relationship between Việt Nam and Cuba and the innovation and development of Quảng Trị Province in the current time.

All of the photos, of which many are black and white, accurately feature the glorious resistance of the Vietnamese liberation against foreign invaders and at the same time highlight the precious support of the Cuban Government leader and people.

President Castro’s visit marked a special historical milestone in the relationship between Việt Nam and Cuba and was regarded as a symbol of the international unity movement and support for the Vietnamese national liberation.
