The 15th edition of the Doing Business 2018 report, recently published by the World Bank, ranked Morocco 69th among the 190 countries surveyed, with a score of 67.91 points, consolidating its leadership in North Africa, compared to Tunisia (88th), Egypt (128th) and Algeria (166th).

Morocco ranks third among countries in the Middle East and North Africa, behind the United Arab Emirates (21st) and Bahrain (66th), and for the first time overtakes the Sultanate of Oman (71st).

On the African continent, Morocco maintained its 3rd position behind Mauritius (25th) and Rwanda (41st), ahead of Botswana (81st) and South Africa (82nd).

In this 2018 edition of the Doing Business report, Morocco scored 67.91 out of 100, meaning that it is one-third of the way to the best performance in the world, especially that the Kingdom also maintained its position in the second best category in the world, in terms of trade and ease of business.

The good results recorded by Morocco can be explained, in particular, by the attractive business environment, tax advantages, the creation of businesses, the simplification of procedures, the improvement and strengthening of online services for the benefit of business and cross-border trade. — Maghreb Arab Presse/VNS
