HCM City seeks national recognition for 14 treasures

The HCM City People’s Committee has petitioned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for recognition of 14 artefacts at the HCM City Museum and the HCM City Fine Arts Museum as national treasures.

HCM CITY — The HCM City People’s Committee has petitioned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for recognition of 14 artefacts at the HCM City Museum and the HCM City Fine Arts Museum as national treasures.

The items from the former include a bronze seal of military governor Lê Văn Duyệt cast in 1802 and a collection of 12 banknote zincographs.

The sole item at the other museum is a lacquer painting titled “Thanh Niên Thành Đồng” (Young People of the Fatherland’s Iron Bulwark) by Nguyễn Sáng. — VNS
