HCM CITY — A high-speed boat service between HCM City, Cần Giờ District and Vũng Tàu will be launched in October, the city Department of Transport has said.

Greenlines DP Technology Co Ltd, the operator of the service, will have four services daily from Bạch Đằng Wharf in District 1 to the coastal district of Cần Giờ and eight from Cần Giờ to Vũng Tàu.

The boats will have air-conditioners, televisions, wifi and life-jackets.

It will take 75 minutes to travel from HCM City to Cần Giờ, and 30 minutes from Cần Giờ to Vũng Tàu.

The ticket will be priced at VNĐ200,000 (US$8.78) for the Bạch Đằng-Cần Giờ trip.

But Cần Giờ District residents will pay only half the price and disabled people with free public bus passes can travel for free.
