The Central province of Thừa Thiên – Huế is seeking approval from the Ministry of Construction to build an ecological and spiritual resort complex with a cable car system on Bạch Mã Mountain in Phú Lộc District.
The telpher, which would not affect the natural forests below, is expected to provide a big tourism boost to Bạch Mã National Park, a spokesman for the province Department of Planning and Investment said.
It will start at Cầu Hai Lagoon, have three stops en route, and end at Morin Bạch Mã Hotel Huế.
The local government has already approved the 300ha resort in the national park at an estimated cost of VNĐ1.5 trillion (US$66 million).
Established in 1991, Bạch Mã National Park spreads over more than 37,000ha and is renowned for having the richest bio-diversity in Việt Nam. — VNS
