Visitors to HCM City’s Hồ Thị Kỷ flower market in District 10 can easily find many Vietnamese people of Cambodian descent selling mainly Cambodian specialties at what is known informally as the Cambodian Market.
Guests should stop by Co Cô’s sweet soup stall to enjoy the flavour of Cambodian-style steamed pumpkin pudding, mixed pudding served with durian, sweet egg soup, and sticky rice made with durian and coconut milk called Xôi Xiêm, with prices starting from VNĐ20,000 (US$0.9) each.
Visitors should not miss Pahok noodle soup at Tư Xê’s restaurant. Made with Pahok sauce, snakehead fish, vermicelli, and lemongrass leaves, the specialty reflects authentic Cambodian fare. The restaurant is popular with homesick Cambodians in the city.
