HCM CITY — Visitors from all over the world are joining residents on HCM City’s streets as artificial and natural yellow flowers bloom in profusion.

Just a few days before the Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday, the corner of Phạm Ngọc Thạch and Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai streets in District 1 signals the arrival of spring with bright yellow Mai blossoms.

The Ông Đồ (calligrapher) Street is another Tết season hotspot, attracting locals and foreigners for the last 13 years with its special traditional space.

Dozens of artificial yellow Mai trees also line the road. Women like to come here in the traditional dress ao dài and have their photographs taken, now mostly with their own selfies.

Sophie from Belgium, in Việt Nam for the first time, said she was excited to dress in traditional Vietnamese clothes. "I feel very happy to be part of it." — VNS
