Remembering Fidel’s unwavering support

Steadfast leader: Fidel Castro, a great leader of the Cuban people, an unyielding communist and revolutionary leader of Latin American nations and the movement for peace and national independence, freedom and socialism, died on November 25 at the age of 90. Until now, he has always been a figure of great influence, a symbol of a persistent fight for national independence and people’s prosperous life. Enduring friendship: Cuba and Việt Nam established diplomatic ties on December 2, 1960. Since then, revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, Vietnamese President Hồ Chí Minh and following leaders of the two countries have continually nurtured the solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between the two Parties, States and peoples. Fidel Castro made three visits to Việt Nam in September 1973, December 1995, and February 2003.
