HÀ NỘI — A six-strong Vietnamese women’s cycling team will compete in the upcoming Tour of Zhoushan Island I and II in China.
They will face 14 other teams from across the world including Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and the hosts.
The first event on May 21 lasts 45.4km, while the second has two stages of 83.7km and 85.3km, respectively on May 22-23.
Last year Vietnamese athletes also entered the tournament but struggled.
They are expected to have better result as Asian champion Nguyễn Thị Thật is in the squad.
The International Cycling Union-recognised event was first held in 2012. — VNS
