HÀ NỘI — Bosnian football club FK Sarajevo, chaired by Vietnamese businessman Nguyễn Hoài Nam, will compete in season's Champions League’s qualification round after winning the Premier League title on Saturday.
They defeated Zvijezda 09 4-0 to become champions just a few days after winning the BiH Cup.
Nam joined the team along with coaches, players, staff and thousands of fans to celebrate their victory.
"I'm sorry I can not speak to you in Bosnian," Nam said to them.
"I arrived in Sarajevo this morning after a 16-hour flight. I do not feel tired because this is a special day in my life.
“I want to congratulate the whole club, and a special thank goes to all the supporters I met tonight. Thank you Sarajevo, I hope you enjoyed today, "said Nam.
Nam, CEO of Berjaya Việt Nam and the Promotion Fund for Vietnamese Football Talent (PVF), took over FK Sarajevo in March.
The club have played in qualifiers for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League before, but have yet to reach the main draw. — VNS
