HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Văn Bình of MM Mega Market won the first stage of the Return to Countryside cycling tour on Sunday.

Bình finished the 70km stage from Long Xuyên City to Rạch Giá City with a time of 1hr 46.17.

He was just a hair ahead of Trần Nguyễn Duy Nhân of Military Zone 7 and teammate Nguyễn Tuấn Vũ.

With two riders in the top three, MM Mega Market top the team ranking, followed by Lộc Trời Group and Military Zone 7.

Bình will take both yellow and green jersey into the second stage today from Rạch Giá to Vị Thanh City over 60km.

The annual tour has lured nearly 90 cyclists from 13 local and one foreign teams. They will tour through 10 stages until May 27. — VNS
