Việt Nam crushed by Thailand in AFF Futsal Champ

Việt Nam lost to Thailand 4-1 in their third match in Group B of the AFF Futsal Championship, held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam lost to Thailand 4-1 in their third match in Group B of the AFF Futsal Championship, held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia yesterday. 

They entered the match with confidence even though they faced strong Thailand after passing the qualifying round.

Decisive shots by Đức Hòa and Thất Phi in the first minutes threatened their rival’s net.

In the fifteenth minute, from the corner, Trần Văn Vũ, rushed from the opponent’s defence and headed to open the score.

However, Thailand managed to equalise as the first half drew to a close. The goal was scored by Jetsada Chudech.

The second half belonged to Thailand, as they bagged two more goals.

Though they got a red card, shining star Chudech managed to bag one more goal, bringing the final score to 4-1.

Việt Nam ranked second in Group B and will next face Malaysia in the semi-finals, while Thailand face host Indonesia on November 9. — VNS
