HÀ NỘI — The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has fined Việtnamese club FLC Thanh Hóa US$6,000 for their violation in the AFC Cup 2018.
The club was fined on Wednesday for two violations during a match against Global Cebu of the Philippines in the AFC Cup on February 10 at Mỹ Đình National Stadium in Hà Nội, in which Thanh Hóa beat their rival 1-0.
The first violation was that the event’s organising board, FLC Thanh Hóa, let a stranger (not a reporter or event staff) approach the locker-room of the two teams. The second action which invited the penalty was the inability of the organising board to prevent some seven fans from stepping into the pitch area after the match.
Thanh Hóa will have 30 days to appeal to AFC.
