HÀ NỘI — Ngô Đình Nại won the one-cushion carom category at the ongoing Asian Carom Billiards Championship 2018 in HCM City on April 5.
Nại easily beat his teammate Mã Minh Cẩm 100-83 in the final to take the title.
It is the second time Nại has won the Asian event. Earlier, Nại also overcame Trần Phi Hùng to triumph in the Asian Carom Billiards Championship in 2012.
Following this victory, Nại will continue playing in the three-cushion carom.
The five-day event features 50 leading cueists, including 2017 Asian champion Nguyễn Quốc Nguyện of Việt Nam, world No 10, Choi Sung Won of South Korea, world No 12, and Vietnamese Trần Quyết Chiến, world No 15.
The championship will be a chance for the Vietnamese team to assess their players’ performance before they attend the World Cup event in Altalya, Turkey in late April and another World Cup event in HCM City in May. — VNS
