Việt Nam will take on Jordan tonight at the Asian Cup qualifier in Amman City. Both coach and players believe in a positive result.

Speaking prior to the match, coach Park Hang-seo said despite ranking second in Group C behind Jordan, Việt Nam had already advanced to the final of the Asian Cup. He admitted Jordan were a strong team and their players had good physique and form as well as skilful technique. He said his squad did not get much time to prepare for the game but knew how to overcome their rival. Việt Nam wanted to win or bring home at least one point, he said, adding that the team shouldered the hope of local supporters, so all players must give their best in all the tournaments.

Captain Đinh Thanh Trung said, “The winner of the match will take the lead spot in Group C. My teammates and I are determined to win for the pride of Việt Nam.”
