HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam easily defeated Singh Karunuday yesterday in Chandigarh City to qualify for the semi-final of the India F3 Futures tennis tournament.
The Vietnamese, who is No 3 seed, beat the host rival, No 7 seed, 6-1, 6-1 in a 53-minute match.
He will face Spain’s Carlos Boluda-Purkiss, No 2 seed, who won 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 over Indian Arjun Kadhe in the last four rounds.
Boluda-Purkiss was Nam’s partner in the doubles event.
The No 3 duo lost 2-6, 6-7 (7) to No 2 pair Kadhe and Vijay Sundar Prashanth in the semi-finals. — VNS
