HÀ NỘI — Hoàng Anh Gia Lai defeated Viettel 1-0 to take the National U13 Football Championship in Nghệ An Province yesterday.

Hoàng Anh Gia Lai dominated the match from the beginning but could not score in the first half, although they created many chances.

The first goal came just minutes after the break when Trần Đức Long sent his teammate’s perfect pass into the net.

Defending champions Viettel tried hard to find the equaliser, but goalkeeper Bảo Duy, the bar and the post defeated all their attempts.

It is the first time that Hoàng Anh Gia Lai has won the tournament. — VNS
