HÀ NỘI — Sebastian Mathias Schoch has been appointed doctor of the national squads of Việt Nam following a recent order by the national coaches.

The decision is aimed at ensuring the best health of the players.

The German will be the third foreign official working for the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) at present. Earlier, executive director Jurgen Gede and fitness coach Martin Forkel, both from Germany, arrived in the country.

“VFF has selected a doctor who meets the demands of the coaches. He will take care of our players’ health at all times, and especially focus on the U20 team during their upcoming World Cup and the U22s at the Southeast Asian Games in August,” VFF Vice President Trần Quốc Tuấn said.

Schoch will land in Việt Nam in March and will take care of the U20s from then on and during their competition in South Korea from May 20 to June 11.

He then moves to the U22s, who are seeking a title at the Malaysian Games. — VNS
