HÀ NỘI — Midfielder Lương Xuân Trường is on top of an ongoing poll by goal.com voting for the best player of the ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup.
Vietnamese Trường has been strongly supported by home fans to lead with 1,700 votes, equivalent to 42 per cent, by the afternoon of December 16.
In second position is Indonesian captain Boaz Solossa, with 967 votes (29 per cent).
Twelve candidates have been nominated for this title.
Another Vietnamese named is striker Lê Công Vinh who has 131 votes.
Others include Chan Vathanaka (Cambodia), Aung Thu (Myanmar), Hassan Sunny (Singapore), Rizal Ghazali (Malaysia), Stephan Schrock (Philippines) and Teerasil Dangda (Thailand).
Vinh who retired after Việt Nam’s semi-final loss is one of nominees in the best striker poll against Dangda and Salossa. His teammate Vũ Văn Thanh is competing for best young player. His rivals are Aung Thu and Vathanaka.
Goal.com also organizes polls for best coach, defender, goalkeeper, and midfielder.
The poll will close after the second leg of the final match today in Thailand.
