HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam met no challenge in both the singles and doubles events at the Việt Nam Men’s Futures F9 tennis tournament in Bình Dương Province.
Nam, who is seeded No 4, defeated his teammate Trịnh Linh Giang 6-2, 6-1 in an all-Vietnamese second round match yesterday.
He will play No 5 Enzo Couacaud of France in the quarterfinals.
After resting for some hours, Nam paired with Ti Chen of Chinese Taipei and beat No 5 duo Karol Drzewiecki and Maciej Smola.
The No 1 seeds defeated the Polish pair 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the semifinals. They will face No 4 seeds South Korea’s Moon Ju-hea and Noh Sang-woo, who beat No 2 mixed pair Casey Francis Alcantara of the Philippines and Kittiphong Wachiramanowong 6-2, 6-2.
In other matches, Alcantara won 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 over Indian Rishab Agarwal, Ti best Drzewiecki 7-6 (3), 6-1 and No 3 seed Sasi Kumar Mukund of India overcame his fellow countryman Vinayak Sharma Kaza 6-4, 6-4. — VNS
