Nam continues rise up world ATP rankings

Vietnam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam has advanced 173 places to reach world No. 1,002 in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) men’s doubles rankings.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam has advanced 173 places to reach world No. 1,002 in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) men’s doubles rankings. 

At the recent Việt Nam F4 Men’s Futures tennis tournament in the southern province of Bình Dương, Nam paired with China’s Ouyang Bowen and reached the final match.

This result helped him earn 10 more points in the rankings, leaving his points total at 28.

Meanwhile, Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên remained ranked 1,164.

In the men’s singles, Nam increased 23 places to reach  929th place in the word rankings.

In the Việt Nam F5 Men’s Futures, which wrapped up on Sunday, Nam won two titles in the men’s singles and doubles, but the ATP hasn’t updated its rankings. When the ATP updates in its rankings next week, Nam is expected to enter the top 700. — VNS
