HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese representatives Lý Hoàng Nam and Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên entered the semi-finals of the Vietnam F3 Men’s Futures event yesterday.
The host pair defeated Jacob Grills and Jonathan Kanar 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-final match at the Community Sport Centre in Bình Dương Province.
This was their third consecutive semi-final match in the Men’s Futures series, organised in Việt Nam this year.
Their next challenger will be Japanese Hiroki Kondo and Yamasaki Jumpei who came up from behind to beat Hung Jui-chen and Wang Aoran 4-6, 6-2, 1-10 in another quarter-final match.
The second semis will see Aryan Goveas and Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash fight against No. 2 seed Pruchya Isarow and Kittiphong Wachiramanowong.
In the singles, No. 1 seed South Korean Hong Seong Chan won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 over Rishab Agarwal of India.
Earlier, Chinese Taipei’s No. 4 seed Huang Liang-chi was ousted after losing 2-6, 1-6 to Thai Jirat Navasirisomboon. And No. 7 Masato Shiga from Japan was beaten 4-6, 4-6 by David Agung Susanto from Indonesia. — VNS
