HÀ NỘI — Six months after landing in Japan, Vietnamese player Nguyễn Công Phượng told fans he would like to be part of Mito Hollyhock’s formation in the team’s upcoming game against Kanazawa on July 31.
The match is part of the 26th round of Japan’s J-League Division 2.
Phượng said he had recovered from injury and is ready for the match.
The football player, born in central Nghệ An Province, has, until now, not been approved to play for the team due to injury. Since his induction into Mito Hollyhock on January 10, he has served thrice as a reserve player.
“I suffered a fracture and it took me a long time to recover. During my training, I did not dare to get involved in any clash, so I wasn’t allowed to compete much,” Phượng said.
