HÀ NỘI(VNS) -- HCM City won three titles at the National Women’s Tennis Championships, which concluded on March 8 at the Hà Hải Eco-Tourism Park in the northern province of Hải Dương.
In the U16 category, Trần Thị Thanh Trúc of HCM City beat Nguyễn Thị Mai Hương of the host team Hải Dương 6-0, 6-2 to win the title.
Hương’s teammate, Đặng Thị Hạnh, defeated Bắc Giang’s Nguyễn Thị Phương 6-2, 6-3 to win the U18 division.
In the over-18 category’s final, HCM City’s Lian Trần crushed her teammate Trần Thị Tâm Hảo 6-3, 6-2 .
In the U18 doubles, Trúc and Đào Thu Uyên of HCM City overcame the Hanoian pair 6-3, 6-4 to take the title.
The tournament attracted nearly 100 players from 11 cities and provinces. They competed in 10 events for different age groups ranging from U12 to over-18 as well as in categories for amateurs. – VNS
