Hoàng continue winning, setting record in Asian Age Group Championship

HÀ NỘI Nguyễn Huy Hoàng secured more gold medals and set more records at the 11th Asian Age Group Aquatics Championship on February 27 in New Clark City, the Philippines.

The SEA Games' multi-time champion finished first in the boys over-18 1,500m freestyle and set a new record of 15min 24.69sec.

It was Hoàng's second gold and record at the tournament following his victory in the 800m freestyle on February 26.

Trần Hưng Nguyên also earned his second gold in the boys over-18 400m individual medley. He was first in a time of 4:23.78.

He was the champion of the 200m IM on February 26.

Dương Văn Hoàng Quy topped the podium twice in the boys 13-14 age group. His first win was in the 400m freestyle, timing 4:06.53. His second was in the 200m butterfly with 2:03.54.

Quy has secured three golds after two days of competition.

Vietnamese athletes also grabbed three silver and six bronze medals in other swimming events along with two silvers and one bronze in diving. VNS
