HÀ NỘI — HDBank will continue their diamond sponsorship for the national futsal tournaments over the next five years.

The Việt Nam Football Federation and the Voice of Việt Nam revealed the news at a sponsorship announcement on February 1 in Hà Nội.

Following the deal, the 2024 HDBank Futsal National Championship will feature eight teams competing from February 22 to July 31 in Hà Nội, HCM City and Nha Trang under a two-leg home-away format.

All participants can sign one foreign and one overseas Vietnamese player.

The winners will walk away with the golden trophy and VNĐ500 million (US$20,300). The second and third finishers will pocket VNĐ200 million and VNĐ100 million, respectively.

The 2024 HDBank Futsal National Cup will be held in a centralised venue in HCM City. The organisers expect to see up to 10 clubs to compete while timetable will be confirmed later.

Prizes for the tournament will be announced as soon as the VFF publishes the rules and regulation.

Thái Sơn Nam are reigning champions of both tournaments.

"With changes in organisation and careful preparation of teams, we expect the National Championship and the National Cup competitive events where we can find talented players to serve the national team towards important goals in the near future," said Trần Minh Hùng, co-head of the organising committee.

Lê Thành Trung, deputy general director of HDBank added: "HDBank accompanies futsal tournaments as an activity of the sustainable development programme.

"With this activity, HDBank hopes to join hands in improving the quality of the tournament, creating an good playground for futsal clubs, and diversifying local sports activities in Việt Nam.

"HDBank has been accompanied with the national events for seven seasons and hopes to witness another successful year for Việt Nam's futsal in particular and sports in general. It will help Việt Nam integrate to the international competitions and highlight Vietnamese sports in the world." VNS
