HÀ NỘI — The first Đất Mũi Marathon Cà Mau 2022 will take place on October 9 featuring around 3,000 runners.
The tournament PetroVietNam Cup will be in four categories of 5km, 10km, half marathon and full marathon.
Tạ Hoàng Hiện, deputy director of Cà Mau Province's Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, said: "The Đất Mũi Marathon Cà Mau is an important event in our tourism programme entitled Cà Mau -- 2022 Destination.
"We want to organise a high-quality tournament in which participants will enjoy great experience during their time with us."
Hiện said the route will be set up on the legendary Hồ Chí Minh Trail in which Cà Mau is the last destination. It is one of the most scenic routes for a road trip in Asia. Through their race, runners will be offered unique experiences seeing the rich and diverse mangrove forest ecosystem.
The vast scenery looking over East Sea with the island of Hòn Khoai hidden in the distance will welcome runners.
Hiện added that the tournament is expected to introduce beautiful images and friendly people to Vietnamese and international tourists.
The province hopes it will be a meeting point for enterprises and businesses who might cooperate to develop local trade and tourism and lure more investment.
