Indonesians shoot down gold

HÀ NỘI — Indonesian shooter Anang Yulianto achieved 571 points to win gold – the first gold of May 22 competition at the SEA Games – in the men’s 25m standard pistol at Hà Nội’s National Sports Training Centre 1.

Swee Hon Lim of Singapore came second after scoring 562 points, while Phan Xuân Chuyên of Việt Nam bagged bronze.

Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra added the second gold of the day for Indonesia, finishing first in the men’s 10m running target with 569 points.

Vietnamese Ngô Hữu Vương and Trần Hoàng Vũ took silver and bronze medal, respectively.

Vương scored 566 points for silver, while Vũ earned 553 points for bronze.

However, Vương, Vũ and Nguyễn Anh Tuấn accumulated 1,671 points to win the 10m running target team gold, with Indonesia (Muhammad Chuwai Zam, Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra, and Irfandi Julio), in second for silver with 1,444 points.

Lao Somchanh Xaysommy, Phetdavanh Phetsalat and Parn Douangpaseuth scored 1,433 points to bag the bronze medal.

In the women’s trap, Hoàng Thị Tuất of Việt Nam won a gold medal.

Indonesian shooters successfully took the top of the medal tally for shooting at the SEA Games 31, bagging eight golds.

Việt Nam won six golds, while Thailand took two.
