Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Singapore and Taiwan

HÀ NỘI — More than 300 Vietnamese citizens were repatriated on Friday from Singapore and have been quarantined upon arrival.

Vietnamese agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines worked together to arrange the flight.

The passengers included children under 18, the elderly, the ill and others in disadvantaged conditions.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore sent officials to the airport to help Vietnamese citizens complete necessary procedures before boarding.

Disease prevention measures were carried out during the flight.

Crew members were given COVID-19 tests and have been put in quarantine along with passengers after landing at Cần Thơ International Airport.

The same day, 230 Vietnamese citizens landed at Cam Ranh Airport in south-central Khánh Hòa Province on a repatriation flight from Taiwan (China).

The flight was arranged by the Việt Nam Economic-Culture Office in Taipei, budget carrier Vietjet Air, and local agencies.

Passengers included the elderly, children under 18, students who finished their studies with expired visas or without accommodation, stranded tourists and workers.

All passengers and crew members had their body temperatures checked and were then quarantined upon arrival.

On July 28, another 230 Vietnamese citizens were brought home from Taiwan. — VNS
