More than 200 hotels in VN selected to provide paid quarantine services

As many as 207 hotels with more than 23,000 beds in 25 cities and provinces across Việt Nam have registered to provide paid quarantine services, according to the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism.

HÀ NỘI — As many as 207 hotels with more than 23,000 beds in 25 cities and provinces across Việt Nam have registered to provide paid quarantine services, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

This is part of the efforts to partly help the hospitality industry survive the impacts of the pandemic that has seen travel restrictions and border closures.

Of the accommodations, 41 in Đà Nẵng, six in Hà Nội, nine in HCM City and 15 hotels in Đồng Nai.

Other localities where paid quarantine is available now include Hải Phòng, Quảng Ninh, Vĩnh Phúc, Hải Dương, Bắc Ninh, Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An, Quảng Bình, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, Khánh Hòa, Ninh Thuận, Bình Thuận, Phú Yên, Lâm Đồng, Bình Dương, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, Cần Thơ and Kiên Giang.

Deputy Director of HCM City’s Tourism Department Nguyễn Thị Ánh Hoa said the department worked with the city’s Centre for Diseases Control and other agencies to select qualified locations to provide paid quarantine.

"Those who want to stay at paid quarantine areas can submit an application to the city’s Department of Labour, Invalid and Social Affairs,” Hoa was quoted as saying by online newspaper vnexpress.net.

With two new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Wednesday morning, Việt Nam’s tally now stands at 672, including 308 imported cases that were quarantined upon arrival, and 224 connected to the Đà Nẵng outbreak from July 25.

As many as 378 patients have recovered so far, while eight have died.

More than 120,040 who had contact with COVID-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are now under quarantine. — VNS
