HÀ NỘI — Severe drought will hit central provinces in the next 10 days whereas it will gradually reduce in Central Highlands provinces, said the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Weather Forecasting on Sunday.

During the time, central provinces will see little rain. A little rain may occur from June 6 to 8 from Thanh Hóa Province to Hà Tĩnh Province.

Total rain in the central area will be half of that in the same period in previous years, whereas rainfall in the Central Highlands province will be about 10-30 per cent lower than in previous years.

The Tây Nguyên (Central Highlands) region will see showers in the next 10 days in the afternoons and evenings.

River levels in central provinces will fall gradually, and will be 26-65 per cent lower compared with the same period the previous year, with some rivers even dropping by 75 per cent. — VNS
