HÀ NỘI — The chairman of Hà Nội People's Committee, Nguyễn Đức Chung, has directed city’s Health Department to test multiple water samples every day and report to city leaders and publicise the results to local citizens.

The move is to ensure clean water from Đà River water plant to supply thousands of customers in Hà Nội after the recent pollution crisis, vietnamplus.vn reported.

Daily water samples tested by the city’s Health Department in the past week show the water has met safety standard.

All water samples taken from tap water supplied by the Đà River in districts of Thạch Thất, Nam Từ Liêm, Hà Đông, Đan Phượng, Hoài Đức meet permissible styrene levels, according to the Institute of Environmental Technology under Việt Nam Academy of Science and Technology.

In the coming days, the city’s Health Department will ask its units to continue taking water samples from the Đà River water plant and households to assess the quality of water. — VNS
