HÀ NỘI — The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship – Viettel 2019 national elimination round kicked off yesterday simultaneously in Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng and HCM City by HCM Communist Youth Union and IIG Vietnam with the sponsorship of Viettel Group to find the nation’s best Microsoft Office users.
The national championship finale will take place on April 7.
In its 10th year in Việt Nam, the competition witnessed the participation of more than 1,000 students from 40 localities.
The three best competitors in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint will be chosen to represent Việt Nam at the MOS World Championship in New York City, the US in late July.
“Việt Nam is accelerating digitalisation,” said Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, the union’s secretary. “In that context, the use of international standards and certificates like MOS is an essential solution to control training quality and assure the quality of the Vietnamese labour force.”
In the past seven years, Việt Nam’s teams have always featured in the world competition’s top ten with one gold medal, one silver medal and eight bronze medals.
The MOS World Championship presented by Certiport is a global competition that tests the skills of students aged 13 to 22 in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. — VNS
