Five students were injured and nearly 200 motorbikes were ruined early Tuesday morning when a fire occurred in Nha Trang Dorm's parking area in coastal Nha Trang City

NHA TRANG — Five students were badly injured and nearly 200 motorbikes were ruined early Tuesday morning when a fire occurred in Nha Trang Dorm’s parking area in coastal Nha Trang City, Khánh Hòa Province.

The dorm in the city’s Vĩnh Hải Ward is for students of Thái Bình Dương University and Telecommunication University.

The students, who were reportedly sleeping, awoke upon hearing an explosion and saw smoke spreading to their rooms.

Khánh Hòa Province police used four fire engines and dozens of firefighters were mobilised to extinguish the fire.

The dorm management board opened a nearby dorm to accommodate nearly 300 affected students.

The police are investigating the incident. — VNS
