HÀ NỘI – Electricity of Việt Nam (EVN) yesterday announced that four central provinces have regained their use of electricity after suffering from recent floods.

The provinces include Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị and Quảng Nam.

However, many districts within the provinces of Bình Định, Phú Yên, Khánh Hòa and Đắk Lắc had not been reconnected to power because they still are inundated by  flood waters, EVN reported on Monday.

EVN also said its eight hydropower reservoirs were continuing to discharge water in order to ensure public safety and reduce flooding for downstream communities.

Its units also closely coordinated with local authorities to operate reservoirs and discharge water, under the direction of the committee for the prevention of natural disasters and search and rescue in local communities, EVN said. – VNS
