Students win 11 prizes in Robothon Contest

HCM CITY — Students from Lê Ngọc Hân Primary School won 11 prizes in HCM City’s annual Robothon Contest held last Sunday.

They won first prizes in the apprentices and veterans divisions in the EV3 category and the apprentices division in the NXT category.

They also won two second prizes, one third prize and five consolation prizes.

The first prize in the experts division in EV3 went to students from Lương Định Của Secondary School. They also won the first, second, third and consolation prizes in the veterans division in the VEX category and other prizes in the EV3 and NXT categories.

An Khánh Primary School won the first prize in the NXT veterans division besides other prizes.

EV3, NXT and VEX are the names of robots used in the contest.

The theme this year was the “Internet of things”, a hot technological trend globally, and contestants had to make robots and programme them to collect and deliver data.

The annual contest attracted 67 teams from primary and secondary schools. It was organised by the city Department of Education and Training and DTT-Eduspec Joint Venture.

Similar contests were also held in Đà Nẵng and Hà Nội on October 30 and November 5.- VNS
