HCM CITY – There are no Zika patients in District 7, where a South Korean woman found to have the disease had lived and worked, the HCM City Preventive Medicine Centre said on Tuesday.

The centre and other relevant agencies carried out epidemic investigations to detect the potential source of infection of the 25-year-old Korean woman.

She had been working at the Korean International School from April 10 to 30 when she developed rashes, and on May 4 was diagnosed with the Zika in Korea.

But the centre reported that the patient’s apartment in Sky Garden 2 and the Korean International School are free of mosquitoes.

Though the source of infection has not yet been identified, city authorities said they would continue with necessary measures to prevent any possible outbreaks in the district.

More investigations would be done covering places she often visited, they said.

They promised there would be regular updates on Zika-related information.
