Selected informatics Olympiads contestants get chances to study in South Korea

The final round and award ceremony of the 5th Central & Central Highland Việt Nam Informatics Olympiad were held in Đà Nẵng on March 29-30 with the participation of many students from across the country.
Promotion of education is one among the three main pillars in the sustainable development strategy of Hanwha Life Việt Nam.

ĐÀ NẴNG — The final round and award ceremony of the 5th Central & Central Highland Việt Nam Informatics Olympiad were held in Đà Nẵng on March 29-30 with the participation of many students from across the country.

The competition, sponsored by South Korean company Hanwha Life in collaboration with the ChildFund Korea (CFK) Foundation, aimed to develop talented future generations in Việt Nam.

Excelling among nearly 3,000 contestants in the preliminary rounds, nearly 700 contestants from specialised high schools, high schools, and secondary schools nationwide participated in the grand finale the contest. At the end of the final round, 563 contestants with outstanding achievements were honored at the award ceremony on March 30.

Within the framework of the final round and award ceremony, an "Information Technology Career Experience Day" - hosted by Hanwha Life and the Việt Nam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) (under the University of Đà Nẵng) - was organised on March 30 and 31, attracting more than 5,000 students, students, and parents to visit and learn, experiencing the university environment in general and VKU in particular, while contributing to career counseling and guidance for high school students.

Booths related to digital finance (fintech), information technology, and communication (ICT) received considerable attention and attracted many participants.

Hong Jeong Pyo, Senior Executive Vice President and CEO of Hanwha Life, stressed the importance of training ICT personnel.

A representative from Hanwha Life stated: "In the context of globalisation and the continuous development of ICT, young people with creative and sharp thinking will be the key contributors to the sustainable development of the country. Through this competition, Hanwha Life is honoured to accompany partners in nurturing talented future generations in Việt Nam. This is also a strong commitment of Hanwha Life to continue its close relationship with Việt Nam, bringing positive contributions to the community and society."

Outstanding contestants will be selected from the competition to participate in the training and talent development programme in South Korea prepared by Hanwha Life and CFK, aiming to help them learn more about this critical field. — VNS
